Introducing Elynn Cecelia Bird

So I went in for my 39 week check up on Friday morning.  I was a bit worried as I had not been feeling the baby move and felt like something had changed.  I expressed this to the doctor and she mentioned we could break my water today and induce labor.  I talked to Jeff and felt good about it and so walked upstairs and had the baby!  It was not how I wanted to have the baby as I have been induced and gone on my own and it was easier to go on my own, but this felt right.  I am glad I did.  I didn't have much amniotic fluid and the cord was wrapped around the baby's neck twice.  Perhaps all would have been well regardless, but I am glad that I delivered her a week early.  She was small and so was very easy to push out, like maybe 2 contractions and she was out, so the fact the the cord was around her neck didn't affect her at all as it was a quick delivery.  She was 7 lb. 3 oz. and 20 inches long.  Perhaps if she was bigger then the cord would have caused an issue but she was out so quickly my doctor cut it and it was not an issue.  My doctor did an amazing job too.  I didn't even know the cord was around the baby's neck the entire time until after the fact.  Crazy, but I love labor even more now!  I have always enjoyed it, but this was the best!  And while waiting to find out the gender was hard, it was also so fun that I might do it again!

Maddox and Embree are adjusting okay.  It is still too early really to tell how they will handle it as I have only been home for one day.  So far Elynn is a great nurser and sleeper.  She has a bit of a fussy period in the evening from about 9-1a.m. but then falls asleep and sleeps all night and all day unless I wake her up to eat.  We got her name from my middle name being Evelyn, after my grandma.  We were going to name her Evelyn and just shorten it to Elynn but decided to just name her Elynn, pronounced Ee-lynn, with a hard e sound.  Cecelia is after my great grandma.  We are home now and all doing fine!

Almost Done!

I have to title this almost done, even though I really still have a little bit to go, but we are expecting our third child by February 1, I hope.  I am so done being pregnant.  I really enjoyed pregnancy for the first two, meaning they were not very difficult or painful, but this one has been really hard.  Perhaps it is the fact that I am older or that it is my third, or probably a combination of both, but my body aches and has been since I was only a few months along.  We did not find out what we are having as we have one of each.  Most people think I am having a girl, including me.  Jeff has changed his mind several times and finally decided on boy.  This pregnancy has been different from both the others, so I have no idea.  Some names we like for girls include:  Cadence, Haven, Elyn, and Afton.  For boys we like Parker and Asher.  Any other suggestions?

Our Life in Polson, Montana

We are now living in Polson, Montana.  The above it a picture of Flathead Lake coming down into town.  It is a small town but we absolutely love it!  We have made some amazing friends and really enjoy the beauty of the area.  Jeff is working for the tribe and also loves his job, which definitely helps.  I am busy with the kids and getting ready to have another!  We didn't find out the gender of this baby as we have one of each.  Jeff thinks it is a boy and I think it is a girl.  We will see!  Only 7 weeks left and I am crossing my fingers that it is less :)

The following picture is one of our house.  It is the small one on the left that is kind of gray.  It is three bedroom, two bathroom and small, but still way bigger than what we were used to in Kentucky.
Here are the kids at the pumpkin patch.  We went with Maddox's preschool.  We ended up buying 12 pumpkins!  I processed all of them into mashed pumpkin for pies, cookies, bars...except these two they picked out.  Embree dropped hers and it rotted within a few days.
Here is what Maddox is up to these days.  He loves golfing and is actually fairly good at it!  He loves jumping on the trampoline, riding his bike, playing cars and Super Mario Brothers, the original.  He loves preschool.  He is in Montessori and has really taken off in his writing and even reading.
Embree is up to her antics, as usual.  Recently she potty trained herself.  I had nothing to do with it.  In fact, I discrouaged it.  She has had trouble going number two in the toilet, but finally did it yesterday!  Yeah!  She has been scared of it.  Once she was in the bathroom playing in the sink, naked, or course, and all of a sudden I hear her screaming.  I ran/waddled in and saw that she had pooped on the counter and didn't know what had happened.  It was funny.  She also loves horses, wants to go to school like Maddox, and loves her brother.
